In some applications it is not possible to use divers to conduct inspection, maintenance or repair for underwater applications. One requires to create an underwater working environment/habitat/cofferdam. These types of temporary structures require an engineered sealing solution to ensure the serviceman can work in a dry and safe working environment. The constructions are often designed to be flexible and modular in design. Reliable engineered sealing technology and water tightness is here of great importance.
The submerged temporary construction can be found in various configurations, the configuration depends on the location where the servicemen needs to conduct their specific tasks. Two commonly used configurations are: open front structure, where the works are at the front wall or very close to the wall. Second is the open bottom configuration, where the works are at the bottom or (river) bed level.
